Try imagining yourself as a scoop of melting ice cream under the hot sun, or lying in a hot bath while your stresses wash down the drain. You can also close your eyes, breathe slowly and imagine a calming scene, like walking in a meadow, sitting on the beach, or whatever it is that calms you.

Make a list of all of your major sources of stress and assign each one a number between one and ten. One being a minute problem and ten being something devastating. This will help you to learn to not stress over the minor details.

Make sure your jaw is relaxed and do not grit your teeth. There are different parts of the body that may begin to harbor tension when a person is stressed out, and the jaw is one of the most common. Whenever you are feeling particularly stressed, take a deep breath through your clenched jaw, and then relax it as you exhale. You should feel more at ease immediately.

Aromatherapy can be a very effective means of managing stress. Certain scents, such as chamomile and lavender, have been associated with eliciting a relaxed response from people who smell those scents. Use a small vial to mix a little rock salt with a few drops of your favorite oil. Whenever you feel the need, take a deep breath of the scent.

While hobbies, such as video games, are usually very relaxing, if you see yourself getting frustrated then walk away and take a break. After all, you are trying to ease your stress, not create more frustration.
